Lisbon totally won me over
The trams, the hills, the food - it all just works. Pastéis de nata from a local bakery in Belém are something else. The city has so much going on without feeling overwhelming. Loved every bit of it.
One of the best city trips I've done
Alfama is just stunning - those narrow streets and tiled buildings are like nothing else I've seen. The food is cheap and genuinely good, the people are super friendly, and the weather was perfect. Already telling everyone I know to go.

Lisbon really delivers. The miradouros give you the most incredible views over the city - we kept stopping at every lookout we passed. Seafood here is fresh and affordable, and the locals are genuinely welcoming. Solid destination all round.
Perfect winter getaway
Visiting Lisbon in winter is seriously underused as an idea. Mild temps, barely any crowds, and you can actually enjoy places like the Jerónimos Monastery without queuing forever. Bacalhau dishes everywhere and every single one was delicious.
Loved the beach days near the city
Didn't think I'd be hitting the beach on a city break but Cascais is just a short train ride away and it's absolutely beautiful. Sun, sand, fresh grilled fish - can't ask for more. Lisbon itself is great too but that day trip was a highlight.
Such a walkable, enjoyable city
We walked everywhere and never got bored. The Christmas lights along Avenida da Liberdade were gorgeous and the cafés are cozy and affordable. Ginjinha is a must-try - tiny sour cherry shots that the locals love. Great end to the year.
